Tunisian tourism revenue hits record high in August

Tunisian tourism revenue hit a record of 308.4 million U.S. dollars in August, Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts announced on Friday.

In the first eight months in 2017, Tunisia's tourism revenue amounted to 873.6 million dollars, up 22 percent from the same period in 2016, the ministry added.

About 4.7 million tourists, including 1.1 million Europeans and 1.6 million Algerians, have travelled to Tunisia so far in 2017, said Salma Elloumi, minister of Tourism and Handicrafts.
