’Hybrid sukuk’ set to dominate future sukuk issuances

RAM Ratings expects hybrid sukuk, a sukuk structure that combines two or more differing elements, to dominate future issuance.

The credit rating agency, in a statement, noted the market’s growing preference for hybrid sukuk, which could comprise more than one Shariah contract, a mixture of debt and equity or underlying assets consisting of tangible and intangible assets.
